A short story about Kharar: - Kharar (Hindi: खरड़, Punjabi: ਖਰਡ) is a city and tahsil in Rupnagar district in Punjab, India. It is one of the most fertile regions of the Doaba regions situated right next to the city of Chandigarh.
History: - One of the most fertile areas of the Doaba regions. Kharar was given the administrative status of a Tehsil by Partap Singh Kairon, who was the then Chief Minister of Punjab. In pre-independence period, Sir Zaildar Amar Singh Dahiya was one of the most notable persons who held the Zail of 68 villages under British Raj and was given the honorary title of Sir by Lord Mountbatten during his last visit to India.
History: -Kharar is a city in Mohali district in the state of Punjab. It is at a distance of about 10-15 kilometres from Chandigarh and about 4 kilometres from Mohali. Kharar has been shifted from Rupnagar District to Mohali District.
